Brush me, Floss me or Lose me

2015. Performance and Installation. CCA, Glasgow UK.

Brush me, Floss me or Lose me is a performance and installation, which deals with the difficulties of ageing and establishing a sense of belonging. Loosely based on George Orwell’s novel Coming Up for Air, this work focuses on the book's protagonist, George Bowling. He is a fat, middle-aged man who experiences an identity crisis after acquiring his first set of false teeth.

I am ageing, and also yearning for the same sense of belonging as George. I still have all my own teeth.
